Help me test a free resource?

Hello from the end of a really lovely, long (for me and maybe you too) 4th of July weekend!

Since I last wrote I’ve been doing a lot of the less sexy work of having your own business, like getting and incorporating feedback about my website, offerings, branding and more. It’s not the stuff that I love to do but I know it’s important if I want to reach the people and organizations I’m uniquely qualified to work with.

In talking with colleagues and friends about the services I offer I heard more than a few times, “I’d love to work with you but it’s not in my/our budget right now.”

I care very deeply about remediating inequality whenever and wherever I can so I have been inspired to create a set of free resources that give anyone that finds me access to self-guided tools for the foundational components of my process. The first resource in this series is “Self-Guided Goal Setting”.

My belief is that you found me because you have a big, exciting goal that you want to achieve.  Maybe it’s a goal you’ve had for a while but haven’t started working toward, or perhaps you’ve started and got stuck.

In my career I’ve been able to observe what variables lead to successfully meeting one’s goals and all the ways you can fall off track. What I’ve learned is that clearly articulating a very specific goal with an inarguable understanding of what success looks like before you begin your journey is the critical first step.  Clearly articulating goals is challenging! We know this because if it was easy, there wouldn’t be so many different tools and tips for doing so.

This guide is designed to walk you through a series of writing prompts and reflection activities that will get to the heart of what your goal is (you’d be surprised at how often we’re a *little bit* off), understand your motivations, and define what success looks like for you. Investing time in these activities in the beginning will help you form a sustainable plan of action that you can adapt to meet you wherever you’re at and making consistent forward progress at all times.

To-date I’ve tested this resource with some of my closest collaborators but I’d love to get feedback from a broader audience.

I invite you to use the resource and share your feedback with me about your experience via email or in a free 1:1 (one-on-one) conversation with me. If you opt for the free 1:1 we would not only review your feedback for me but I’d like to offer feedback for you about your goal, as well as some recommendations for your action plan. If you like what you see, please do share it with colleagues and loved ones that you feel would benefit from it. Additionally, if you have ideas for what other resources you’d like to see, I’d love to hear about those too!

Wishing you success in pursuit of your goals!
