Who am I?
After 11+ years in tech, 20+ years in professional theatre, a global pandemic, and a series of BIG life events, I find myself longing for a life that feels more authentic. For me that means connecting and collaborating with people that are also passionate about evolution for themselves, their families, local communities, and the global systems we are all a part of.
I’m Lizette (pronounced Lisette) Morris, a coach, and theater professional living in Somerville, MA.
I'm originally from Fairfield County, Connecticut, born to a multi-cultural, blue-collar family that values laughter, music, and hard work.
I was the first in my family to attend a four-year college, receiving a BA in Performance Directing in 2007. I moved to Boston to pursue a career in the performing arts and after a few years I found myself in a healthcare IT organization. That organization changed the course of my life by rewarding my ability to learn quickly and rise to a challenge with promotions to increasingly interesting roles that allowed me to learn and grow.
Through that work I quickly became passionate about promoting the benefits of experimentation, iteration, and diverse collaboration. I brought this passion to my work with government agencies, creative companies, and mature stalwarts.
My most rewarding experiences come through working closely with people, helping them understand the systems they're functioning in, and adding to their toolkits so that they can achieve the goals that are most important to them.
I deeply care about (in no particular order and surely missing some things):
Living a peaceful, joyful, and authentic life as a human right, regardless of man-made borders
Intersectional feminism
Bodily autonomy and liberation
Subverting the systems and weapons of the patriarchy and capitalism
BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ rights and restitution
Immediately addressing the climate crisis
